OutIn Nano

What pressure does the Nano brew at?

Up to 20 bar, enough for a thick crema and a rich aroma. For a stronger taste, brew with about 50 ml of water.

Is the Nano basket pressurized?

The basket and portafilter are one piece. Having a single outlet hole doesn't mean the basket is pressurized.

Can I use the Nano on a plane?

Not during the flight, under airline rules. You can carry it in your cabin bag.

Does it work on 220V or 240V?

Yes, as long as your charging adapter supports that voltage. The Nano charges at 5V and needs at least 15W.

My Nano isn't charging. What should I do?

Use a 5V/3A (15W or higher) USB wall charger. Low-power chargers, such as 5W phone chargers, won't charge it. If it still won't charge, try another USB-C cable, then contact us.

Which cables work?

USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C both work, with a charger of at least 15W.

Can I use the Nano while it's charging?

No. Charge it fully, then unplug it to brew.

How do I clean it?

Use a sponge and mild detergent on the removable parts. Don't wash the outer shell with boiling water, as it can fade the colour. The Nano also has a self-cleaning cycle: fill the tank with water and double-click the button.

It doesn't stop after brewing. What do I do?

Press the button once to switch it off.

What do 5 flashes and 3 beeps mean?

The battery is low. Charge it fully before brewing.

How do I know it has started heating?

After a long press you'll hear a beep and the LEDs will flash. Then just wait for your espresso.

Do I need to pump it by hand?

No. Add ground coffee or a capsule, screw on the basket, add water and press the button. The Nano does the rest.

Ground coffee isn't extracting. Why?

Tamp the coffee lightly and make sure the coffee or capsule chamber is screwed on tightly. If nothing comes out, run a brew with water only or double-click the button.

How much water can I use?

Up to the 80 ml mark. For the best crema, use about 50 ml.

What water should I use?

Pure or filtered water. Mineral-heavy water causes scale to build up.

How long does heating take?

About 200 seconds to heat and brew 50 ml from 25°C to 92°C. More water takes longer. If the battery is too low, it won't heat even when plugged in.

Can the Nano heat milk?

No, it heats water only. Use the LattoGo to froth milk you've heated separately.

My ground coffee tastes weak or won't brew. What's wrong?

Check the portafilter is tight and the basket is fitted correctly. Coffee ground too fine can block the basket, so use an espresso grind.

What grind setting should I use on the OutIn Fino?
  • Light to medium roast: 1.2 to 2
  • Medium roast: 2
  • Medium to dark roast: 2 to 2.1

Not sure? Start at 2.1. A finer grind may not extract with some beans, but it won't damage the machine. Adjust to taste.

Which capsules work?

Nespresso Original Line capsules and compatible brands such as L'OR, Jacobs, Lavazza, Kimbo and Café Royal, as well as ground coffee. Press the capsule in firmly for a good extraction.

Do I need to pierce Nespresso capsules?

No. The included adapter does it for you.

OutIn Mino

Does the Nano Basket Plus fit the Mino?

No, the Basket Plus is for the Nano only. The Mino brews at 22 bar without extra accessories.

How big and heavy is the Mino?

About 67 mm wide and 195 mm tall, and 685 g, so it fits in one hand.

Does hot water touch plastic parts?

Some parts in contact with hot water are plastic. All metal and plastic materials meet U.S. FDA food-safety standards.

Does the Mino fit the OutIn Universal Stand?

Yes.

Can I use the Mino on a plane?

Not during the flight, under airline rules. You can carry it in your cabin bag.

How many shots per charge from cold water?

Up to 6. It heats 50 ml of room-temperature water to about 93°C for each shot.

Does it take Dolce Gusto capsules?

No. It takes Nespresso Original Line capsules and ground coffee. For ground coffee we recommend the OutIn Fino grinder.

Does it work on 220V or 240V?

Yes, with an adapter that outputs 20V at 30W or more.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. Remove the lower parts, fill the tank with water and double-click the button to rinse the inside. Removable parts can be washed with water. Don't use boiling water on the outer shell, as it can fade.

It doesn't stop after brewing. What do I do?

It should stop on its own. If not, press the button once to switch it off.

The light stays red for 2 seconds. Is something wrong?

The battery is too low. Charge it fully first.

How do I know it has started heating?

You'll hear a beep and the ring will glow orange.

Do I need to pump it by hand?

No. Add coffee or a capsule, screw on the basket, add water and press the button.

What water should I use?

Pure or filtered water. Mineral-heavy water causes scale to build up.

Can I use the Mino while it's plugged in?

Yes. If the battery is completely empty, charge it for about 20 minutes on a 30W fast charger first.

How long does heating take?

About 149 seconds to reach 93°C, controlled by PID temperature control. If power runs too low, the light flashes red, it beeps once and brewing stops.

Can the Mino heat milk?

No, it heats water only.

Why is my coffee watery?

Usually under-extraction: a grind that's too coarse, too little coffee, or stale beans. Use fresh, espresso-fine coffee in the right amount, and check the basket and portafilter are fitted properly.

What grind works best?

Too coarse gives a thin shot with little crema. Too fine can choke the machine and taste bitter. On the Fino, use 1.2 to 2 for light to medium roasts, 2 for medium and 2 to 2.1 for medium to dark. If unsure, start at 2.1.

How do I tamp the coffee?

Remove the dosing funnel, fold the spoon and press the coffee down gently with its end.

Water leaks from the portafilter or nothing comes out. Why?

The grind is usually too fine or there's too much coffee, which builds up too much pressure. Use a slightly coarser grind or less coffee. This won't damage the machine.

Which capsules work?

Nespresso Original Line capsules and compatible brands such as L'OR, Jacobs, Lavazza, Kimbo and Café Royal. Put the capsule in the adapter, place it in the portafilter and screw it on tightly.

Do I need to pierce Nespresso capsules?

No. The adapter pierces them when you insert the capsule.

OutIn Fino grinder

How do I use the Fino?

Set the grind dial, add beans (up to 25 g), start the grinder, and gently shake or tap it while it grinds. Settings move in 0.06 mm steps and can be fine-tuned with the ring. Lower numbers are finer.

Can I change the grind size while grinding?

Yes. Turn the adjustment ring directly, without pausing.

The grind is too coarse or too fine. Why?

Check you're turning the dial the right way. If you've taken the burr out, press the inner burr to make sure it springs back and is seated properly.

Why did it stop by itself?

Low battery, jammed beans, the blockage protection (for example with very light roasts or a foreign object) or the 5-minute run limit. After 5 minutes, let it cool for 3 minutes.

How long does grinding take?

It depends on the setting and roast. Darker roasts take longest. Maximum continuous run time is 5 minutes.

Some grounds stay in the chute. Why?

Static. Tap the grinder, grind about 0.5 g extra, or lightly mist the beans with water before grinding.

Is some noise normal?

A little noise is normal at first and should settle after 2 or 3 uses. If it keeps grinding loudly or rattles, clean the inner burr and hopper.

Can I use it while charging?

No.

How do I charge it?

Use a 5V/1A USB wall charger, ideally with the original cable, pushed in until it clicks. A breathing white light means charging, a steady light means full. If it won't charge, try a different USB-C cable, then contact us. It works on 220V or 240V if your adapter supports it.

Can I use it on a plane?

Not during the flight. You can carry it in your cabin bag.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the outside with a slightly damp soft cloth. For the inside, remove the inner burr as shown in the manual and clean the burrs and hopper with a brush or air blower. Don't rinse it with water.

Which setting for the Nano?

Settings 1 to 3 work with the Nano's small chamber, and 2 is the most reliable place to start. With new beans, start with 6 g at setting 2. Go finer if it runs fast with little crema, coarser if it runs slow.

What is setting 1 for?

Setting 1 suits higher-pressure home espresso machines. For those, use about 16 g at setting 2 as a starting point and adjust between 1.2 and 2.1.

OutIn LattoGo frother

Does LattoGo heat milk?

No, it froths only. For a hot latte, heat the milk first.

What does the silicone ring do?

It clips onto your cup for hands-free frothing, adjusts the air intake as you tilt the frother, and works as a stand that keeps the whisk clean.

Can I use it on a plane?

Not during the flight. Carry it in your cabin bag.

Is it for left- or right-handed use?

Both. The balanced design works either way.

What is the whisk made of?

A food-grade Tritan head on a 304 stainless steel shaft.

Can it froth cold milk?

Yes, but the foam won't be fine enough for latte art. For lattes, heat the milk to about 60°C first.

Can I use it for other drinks?

No, it's designed for milk only. Protein shakes and other liquids can damage it.

How full should the cup be?

No more than 40% full, because milk can double in volume.

What are the two speeds for?

High speed makes thicker, airy foam for cappuccinos. Low speed makes dense, silky microfoam for latte art.

Can I use it while charging?

No, it locks while connected to a charger.

Which milk works best?

Fresh whole milk. Oat and soy work, especially "barista" versions, but results vary. Skimmed and zero-fat milk don't froth well.

Will it scratch my mug?

It's safe in glass, ceramic and stainless steel. Avoid scraping the bottom or sides of rough containers.

How do I charge it?

Use a standard 5V charger with the included USB-C cable (5W maximum). When off, the light shows battery level: white 50% or more, orange 20–50%, red under 20%. Breathing white means charging.

It won't turn on after charging. What should I do?

Check the cable is pushed in firmly and the port is dry, press the button once, and try a different socket. If it still won't work, contact us.

How do I clean it?

Rinse the whisk straight after use so milk doesn't dry in the mesh. The whisk and shaft can be hand-washed or put in the dishwasher below 85°C. Wipe the body with a damp cloth only and never submerge it.

How should I store it?

Somewhere dry, away from children and pets. If you're not using it for a while, charge it every three months.

Any safety tips?

Use only OutIn accessories, don't run it continuously for long periods, and switch it off before lifting it out of the milk. For adult use only.
